Dr Bronwyn Milne
BSc(Med) MBBS MPH FRACP FRChAM
Dr Bronwyn Milne is a Paediatrician and Addiction Medicine Specialist at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) with almost 2 decades of experience working in Adolescent Health. She has recently become the Head of the Department of Adolescent Medicine at SCHN which incorporates a wide range of clinical services for adolescents with complex and chronic illness, eating disorders, drug and alcohol misuse and mental health challenges.
Bronwyn was integral in developing the NSW CICADA Center over 15 years ago which provides Care and Intervention for Children and Adolescents affected by drugs and alcohol. This includes a clinical service for children impacted by prenatal alcohol use, those who’s parents use substances and adolescents with moderate to severe drug and alcohol use. She works with a multidisciplinary team who are committed to help young people and their families improve their physical, mental health and wellbeing.
Bronwyn is a fellow with the Royal Australasian College of Physician and lecturer with the University of Sydney Medical School and has research interests particularly in the field of substance use in adolescents. She is passionate about helping young people live their best lives which is even more important now with the added impact of the current COVID19 pandemic. Bronwyn is married to Chris and together enjoy adventures with their 4 children!
Presentation will Cover
Dr Bronwyn Milne will present on the range of services provided to adolescents and their families at the Sydney Children’s hospital network within Adolescent Medicine which has been established for over 40 years. This includes the clinical care for adolescents with complex medical conditions, eating disorders, drug and alcohol concerns and social vulnerabilities.
Bronwyn will present on the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on adolescents, particularly on their mental health and wellbeing.
The department of Adolescent Medicine has a multidisciplinary team including Paediatricians, clinical psychologists, family therapist, allied health professionals and youth arts co-ordinators that provide holistic care for young people and their families.
